The aim of the project is to build a social consensus for the development of career counselling for people with special needs in Lublin Voivodeship through developing cooperation between entities providing education for people with special needs, strengthening the potential of entities and career counsellors providing education for people with special needs, increasing access to free career counselling services, promoting best practices in the field of career counselling for people with special needs. Implementation of the project On May 21, 2022, the EINURD LTD project partner organized a 4-day study visit to Iceland (Reykjawik) for 10 experts (career advisors) from the Lublin Self-Help Center, the aim of which was to learn about good Icelandic practices, learn about career advisors working with NEETs and the Icelandic vocational guidance system. The organizer was Einurd in cooperation with Hringsja and Fjolsmidjan. During the 2-day meetings, counseling sessions, methodological workshops and visits to the centers were conducted. On May 19, 2022, participants and partners were introduced to the assumptions of the study visit. An overview of the education and career guidance system inIceland. Presentation of the best practices of NEETs in Iceland. A visit to Fjosmidjan was organized (the assumptions of career counseling and practical training of NEETs were presented). On the second day, May 20, 202 participants were introduced to the Hrinsja system (model of vocational education and training, social work). There were workshops in the form of group exercises and discussions.
The project implementation period is : 04.2022-03.2024 and its activities are:
-exchange of experiences and practices
-analysis of the national and regional context
-adaptation of the Icelandic system of career counsellors’ education and career counselling tools dedicated to people with special needs (NEETs) to the conditions of Lublin Voivodeship, along with the establishment of the Agreement on Educational Institutions to Support People with Special Needs
– workshops on the use of developed work tools for career counsellors
-promotion and implementation of the project:
on-line conference as well as creation and updating of the internet portal.Participants:
1. direct ones: career counsellors working with NEETs, career and school counsellors, institutions supporting NEETs (NGOs, employment services, etc.)
2. indirect ones: NEETs (from disadvantaged backgrounds, with breaks in education and with difficult access to education) from the Lublin Voivodeship.
Results:
-adaptation of the Icelandic system of career counsellors education and career counselling tools dedicated to people with special needs (NEETs) to the specifics of Lublin Voivodeship
-establishment of the Agreement on Educational Institutions to Support People with Special
Needs and the preparation of a long-term development plan for the Agreement
-creating and updating an internet portal
– communication platform for the exchange of career counsellors’ experiences.
